TAP Upgrades service simplifies the process of upgrading from Economy to Executive Class, bringing it within everyone’s reach. This new format and attractive prices means there are three ways you can get upgrades whenever you contact the airline. Subject to availability, you can upgrade at Lisbon airport, place a bid for Executive Class travel or use your TAP Miles&Go Miles. 
 
Passengers can use their TAP Miles&Go Miles to upgrade to Executive Class, subject to availability, on TAP and Star Alliance flights.

  • Check your booking in “My Trips”;
  • Click on the Fixed Price Upgrade link;
  • Select the flight segment or segments you want to Upgrade. The system will automatically check if there is availability and if you are eligible;
  • Enter your payment details and confirm the Upgrade. You will receive the booking confirmation in the email you registered while booking.
From 36 hours to 2 hours before flight departure. These time periods may vary depending on the purchase channel.
Upgrades via flytap.com are only available to all passengers in the booking. If you wish to upgrade for just one passenger in the booking, you must contact the TAP Contact Center.
The corresponding benefits will be the same as for TAP Executive Class and only apply to the upgraded segment (s), except if the Upgrade was made at the airport, in which case the baggage allowance is the same as your original fare. Please note that the fare conditions remain the same as those of the original ticket.

When checking in, at the check-in desk or at the boarding gate, you must inform the agent you wish to Upgrade. The agent will check if the Upgrade conditions are met. You can Upgrade 2 hours before the flight departure.
 
Yes, except for the hold baggage allowance (quantity and weight), which will always be the same as the one from the original fare, that is, you will not be entitled to the higher class baggage allowance.
You must inform the Contact Center agent that you want to Upgrade. The agent will check if the Upgrade conditions are met.
The Fixed Price Upgrade is not available in “My trips” menu.
In order to check the availability for an Upgrade in “My trips”, the check-in must not have been completed yet.
You can always receive an Upgrade proposal during the mobile check-in process, or request one at the airport or through the Contact Center. In any case, the agent will check if the Upgrade conditions are met.
No, the fare conditions are always the same as those of the original ticket, i.e. the rules for rescheduling and/or changing the booking, refund and others.
Once payment has been processed, the Fixed Price Upgrade fee is non-refundable.
If your flight has been involuntarily cancelled, the amount paid for the Fixed Price Upgrade will be refunded through the same payment method as the original.
If your original flight has been involuntarily cancelled, and protection has been applied to a new flight in Economy Class, the amount paid for the Upgrade at a fixed price will be refunded through the original payment method.
The Fixed Price Upgrade is not available for children traveling alone (unaccompanied minor).
The Fixed Price Upgrade is not available for passengers under 2 years of age.
Upgrade is not allowed for tickets with booked Pet in Cabin service (PETC).
Some tickets may not be eligible for the Fixed Price Upgrade due to restrictions based on special needs seating, seat availability, ticket types, groups and other airline policies. The restrictions are necessary to comply with the law and to ensure that there are appropriate seats for all passengers.
The Fixed Price Upgrade is not available through Booking Management (“My trips”) for bookings with Portugal Stopover.
The “Auction” service allows you to place a bid to travel in Executive Class up to 36 hours prior to departure. Place your bid for TAP flights and tickets online and, if successful, you will be automatically transferred to Executive Class, with payment made via the website.
Yes. When you are a Miles&Go TAP Client, you can use your miles to bid on the upgrade in Plusgrade.
No. Making an offer for Plusgrade is free of charge.  Should your bid be accepted and your flight upgraded, you will only be charged the amount you offered.
There is no amount that guarantees an upgrade. It can vary depending on the number of places available, the number of flight passengers, the number of bids and the different amounts.

We recommend you bid an amount that you feel comfortable with.
The Plusgrade upgrade programme is only available to passengers who book travel via flytap.com. If any of the flights on your itinerary is eligible for an upgrade, there are two ways of making an offer:
  • Through the confirmation page of your ticket purchase;
  • Through the email confirmation of your ticket purchase (it contains a link where you can enter your offer).
If TAP Portugal accepts your offer, you will receive two emails:
  • A first email to inform you the offer has been accepted and that you have been upgraded to Executive;
  • A second email containing a new e-ticket.
Nothing. If you don't get upgraded, you will fly on your original ticket in Economy Class. You will not be charged anything extra.
If TAP Air Portugal accepts your offer and upgrades you to tap|executive class, you will receive two emails: one email will inform you that your offer has been accepted and that you have been upgraded, and another email will contain your new e-ticket.

In the section "Manage Booking" on flytap.com, you can also check if you have been upgraded by entering your booking code and the last name on your electronic ticket.
If you get upgraded to Executive Class, you will receive this information by email.

If you don't get upgraded, you will fly on your original ticket in Economy Class. You will not be charged anything extra.

Yes. When you make an offer for an upgrade, it is valid for everyone on your itinerary. Only one offer is valid for each flight, corresponding to your purchased ticket. The offers must always be made and paid in cash or miles.

Additionally, passengers may have to adjust their offer because all those people registered on the same itinerary will also be involved.
Yes. After you submit you initial offer, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that contains a link saying "Modify/Cancel". Please keep in mind that this is valid only for a certain period of time.

No. Once an offer is accepted, TAP will charge the full amount of the accepted offer to the passenger’s credit card. There will be no refunds, credits or exchanges after that.
